Box & Papers

Box & papers explained

“Box and papers” is one of the most common questions when buying a pre-owned luxury watch. Here is exactly what it means and how to tell what is included with any watch on our site.

What the terms mean

  • Box — the original manufacturer presentation box the watch was sold in.
  • Papers — the original documentation, such as the warranty card or certificate, often stamped and dated by the original dealer.
  • Full set — the watch together with its original box, papers and accessories (and, where applicable, items such as the swing tags, booklets and spare links).

What is included with my watch?

Each product listing clearly states what is included — for example Full Set, Watch & Box, or Watch Only. If you are unsure about a specific watch, just ask us and we will confirm exactly what comes with it.

Does it matter if a watch has no papers?

A watch supplied without its original papers is still 100% genuine — every watch we sell is independently authenticated regardless of whether the paperwork is present. Original box and papers can add to a watch’s value and future resale appeal, but their absence does not affect authenticity.
